Welcome to Liberty Youth Academy

We at Liberty Youth Academy assist parents in educating their children in light and truth in all areas of study and from within the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to help each child discover their God given gifts, talents and abilities that will aid them in their purpose/mission for which they were sent to the earth to complete.

We inspire each child to strive for academic excellence and individual greatness by using the best researched curriculums available today and proven methods mastered by the greatest Statesmen and leaders of the past. We engage experienced and committed Mentors who implement strategies that educate the mind, touch the heart, and inspire the hands to go to work to better the lives of all humanity!

For you who love heroic things
In summer dream or winter tale,
I tell of warriors, saints, and kings,
In scarlet, sackcloth, glittering mail,
And helmets peaked with iron wings.

They beat down Wrong; they strove for Right.
In ringing fields, on grappled ships,
Singing, they flung into the fight.
They fell with triumph on their lips,
And in their eyes a glorious light.

That light still gleams. From far away
Their brave song greets us like a cheer.
We fight the same great fight as they,
Right againgst Wrong; we, now and here;
They, in their fashion, yesterday.

"Follow the Star" Christmas Program

The Christmas program was absolutely amazing! The children did such a wonderful job and brought the true meaning of Christmas to everyone who attended! We would like to thank all the parents and teachers that helped make this program so special! Nothing puts the Spirit of Christmas into your heart like these children and their angel voices!

"I do not try to understand the star, why it appeared at just that time alone to light the path of those who traveled far, I only know-IT SHONE!

My humble mind can’t grasp the wondrous birth, or why this child should bear that holy name, or the heavenly chorus that sang Peace On Earth, I only know HE CAME!

I can but strive His love to understand, and see the peace of mind his presence gives, and share that peace with others seeking…in a world where men, women and children are seeking the star ! Where are you Christmas? Where is the peace I used to know? It is found in HIM only, who came on that night holy. It is found only in HIS love!"

OUR CLASSES are a loving, fun and Christ centered environment where your child will learn through exploration, hands on activities, projects, guest speakers, games, models, writing and recall experiences. A holistic, heads, hands, and heart philosophy accompanied by a thematic approach to lessons are designed to incorporate all three learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic), and to involve right and left brain function which has been shown to better cement learning. In addition, our curriculum is designed to reinforce a child's knowledge that he/she is a Child Of God, inspire personal greatness, encourage correctness in choices, and foster creativity, while reinforcing the love of learning!

RELIGION is taught daily using all of the standard works, but primarily using the Book Of Mormon, conference talks, Ensign and Friend magazines, and Church approved videos are also used. In addition, every subject will be taught using principles learned from the scriptures. The teachings of Christ will be woven through-out the day in all that we are learning and emphasis placed on the importance of knowledge as it pertains to serving Heavenly Father and His children, and acknowledging God's hand in all things. "Hook Dates" will be used in connected with a timeline so that children can see where scriptural and historical events take place in relation to each other. All faiths or like minded families are welcome.

HISTORY/SCIENCE. Children are given a broad view of their world, starting with world geography. Patriotism and U.S. History are heavily emphasized, as well as the study of the Constitution, and Founding Fathers. Mentors use Dan Hunters Histories, original text of world Leaders, and Personal research to inspire students. "By combining the facts of history with the story behind those facts, the brain is better able to understand and comprehend... Brought together, history comes alive. It becomes LIVING HISTORY." Dan Hunter They will Explore their world using the scientific method. Hands on exploration and discovery will take place as the children use their senses to lead them to self gained knowledge. We will lead them into critical thinking skills by them asking questions and searching for truths everywhere.

Mathematics will be approached in a new fun way. Using Saxon as a springboard, we will play lots of games, use manipulatives, and worksheets to reinforce concepts taught and assessment through testing what we've learned. The curriculum that we're using builds upon itself and uses both right and left brain strategies which better cement knowledge learned. Children can see how and why the math concepts work.

Classics, not textbooks! We will spend every day immersed in the adventures of characters from classical children's literature that teach the children, by those character's example, to have courage, be truthful, loving, compassionate, patriotic, kind, obedient, faithful, and many other important and life changing values. These important books will help your children understand right from wrong and inspire, at a young age a sense of mission. IN addition, we read great literature to the children because it is rich in excellent language. As your child hears the language of great writers, it becomes a part of them, improving their ability to write and speak well.

Our reading program is phonics based. The Spalding Method where all 56 phonograms will be memorized and reinforced regularly. These give children a "code" that they can use to decipher the English language.
